hello,
i leave for school on the 12th. my grandmother just passed away yesterday and her funeral is on the 16th. i am planning to go to school (by plane) unpack my luggage a bit and find my classes, look about campus (i’m a firsttime freshman) get a little rest in, and then leave on charter bus on the 13th to go to my hometown where the funeral is held. its about a 4-5hr ride. then ill stay with relatives until the day of the funeral. the funeral is at 11am on the 16th,
and i start classes on the 17th.
my plan is to attend and then get on a bus at 6:00pm to go back to my school. I’d arrive at 3:00am. My first class is at 8:30am.
My question is, is this a good idea? should i not attend the funeral? the price is only about 100$ roundtrip. i am a bit concerned about the second bus trip back because it is 9hrs with 1 transfer. and GOD-Willing there will be no layovers i am praying.
basically would it be feasible to attend? i have no problem with sleeping 3-4 hrs and then getting up for class, but would that be horrible? my first class is a painting class (yay) for an hour. i wont get much rest between classes which i have until 5:00pm. i have like two 1-1.5hr breaks between classes.
do you think i should go? I do love my grandmother very much. a concern also is making it back on time to not be dropped from any classes from not attending, which they have the right to do my advisor told me.
