What’s The Best Way To Organise Your Funeral Without Freaking Out Your Family?

I am not planning on arranging my own death, however, when the times comes, I would like to have my funeral pre-arranged.
I have a favourite church, I have favourite hymns. I want to be buried, not cremated. There are pieces of prose I would like to be read out, and chapters of specific texts for the funeral.
I want those close to me to be aware of my wishes, but my parents are the kind of people who would be very disturbed by the idea of me discussing my own death as they simply do not want to entertain the idea.
What advice can you give?

Try talking about dying to them.

Contact a local funeral home and ask to speak with someone about pre-planning. Get it all planned out then show the family your plans.

I would write down everything in a note (or type it out) and sign it. give them the letter and tell them what is inside it (not details) just that it is your wishes after you pass and for them not to open it until that day comes.

Have it memorialised in your last will and testament. That is what I’ve done.
