Why dont you go on a funeral planning website and look at all the links at the bottom of the home page etc.
If you are going to find laws they would be there.
There aren’t a lot of laws about funerals, but there are plenty about funeral homes and similar businesses. They have to do with health and safety requirements, body storage, that sort of thing. The actual funeral is not regulated to any great extent.
Find your state’s website with their entire collection of laws, it is there. Search the terms “funeral home” or “crematorium” to get you started.
Interesting question. I don’t have a real answer for you but I live in Maryland and we have laws regarding funeral protesting because assholes like to picket funerals of war veterans and cause scenes. Also we are really crazy in Maryland so we have laws regarding where someone can be buried. You may also want to check into laws governing the disposal of human remains to determine any laws the funeral home may have to deal with. I hope you do well on your project.
