I am requesting a refund or a transfer for season passes from a local business. I purchased them before the season began in October and I have been unable to use them- or even pick them up. The business does not normally offer refunds and I have been advised to write a letter, including and evidence, as to why I should be issued a refund. This is no problem for me… my issue is, what evidence should I include?
The reason I have not been able to use them is because I have lost my job and have been actively job hunting. I have also been dealing with some estate issues (legal forms) that are occurring on the east coast- which severely limits when I can do things. Finally, my husband’s schedule for work and school prohibits us from doing anything during the week.
The woman I spoke to suggested (without asking why) if its work related to include a note from a boss stating the hours… I plan to include the receipt from the purchase and my husbands schedule. What else should I include? I don’t feel comfortable providing death certificates to this company, would the cards from the funeral be OK? Should I show public record of the sale of the house in the estate (once again, not comfortable showing anything with too much detail)? Should I show them anything I have received from the lawyer? I don’t want to request a note/letter from the lawyer because it will take too long. While looking for a job since I lost mine, I have been doing some commissioned art, should I have a letter written from the people that commission me? I am just not too sure where I can start and what would make for a strong/reasonable argument without seeming rude or demanding.
