Need Help Pplleeaasseee! Seniors Killed In Car Accident!?

Yesterday, two seniors from our school (a boy and girl) were both killed in a car accident. They were very well known around campus and the boy was a friend to many people. I do not know much about the girl, other than the fact that she was very bright.
However, my class is looking for something the entire school can participate in, that will help everyone cope with the deaths. Our principal has ruled out a balloon launch, because of the litter it will produce. We are considering a candle light ceremony at night, but we do not know if this is possible. If anyone knows of anything we can do, feel free to post your ideas.
This will also be used as a fund raiser for their funerals. We were going to have the students pay $1 for a balloon. they would be able to write a note to the deceased students, tie it to the balloon, and let the balloon go. The only thing wrong with this idea is that the principal has declared it a last-choice plan, in case we cannot think of anything else. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

make a makeshift memorial and leave inspiring words of strength, and dedications to the family?
and maybe that candle light thing will fit in too

Have a dance in their memory and donate the money to their families.

When I was in high school, one of our class mate got his brain blown out in a hunting accident. We built a memorial around the base of the flag poll, A place with a tribute and a concrete bench where we could sit and contemplate.

Ask every student in your school to donate $1 (or more for the ones who can afford it) and put the money into an account that will bear interest. You probably have a community foundation, or something similar in your area, that would handle the account. Use the annual interest – not the principal – to provide a grant, named for the two students who lost their lives, to help out with college expenses for two students (one male and one female). Written applications would be submitted each year and the two best applications would receive the grants.
This would be a lasting memorial and far more useful than a balloon launch.
