Go On Vacation Or To A Funeral?

I feel sick even asking this question, but I need to know what other people would do in my place. In two days I am traveling with 4 girlfriends on vacation. My flight and hotel have been paid for and booked and I’m officially in the no refund time slot.
Just a few hours ago, I found out my same aged cousin was found dead. He was a bit of the black sheep of the family and did not attend our functions or show up much. However, I grew up with him for years until he became a teenager and went different ways. My family is very close with his parents and his little brother, though.
I feel terrible even asking, but if the funeral lands on the vacation, should I forfeit the money and skip? It’s been planned for months, and I have hardly seen my cousin in years, but I just would feel terrible because of how close we are with his family.
Also, how long does it take usually to have a funeral from time of death?
Gah, I suppose I know the right decision, but.. what is your opinion?

You already paid for it and you planned this months ahead. Your family members would understand, I hope. Why would they want you to forfeit your money and mourn when you could be happy? I’m sure that would be what your cousin wants: for his family to be happy.
And hey, it’s not like it’s your fault it conflicted.
