Join a Cremation Society. You pay ahead of time. You can even pay on-time. Then when your time comes the family doesn’t have to worry about it. That’s what we’ve done.
A decent funeral in Canada starts, minimum at about $1,500 and can go up as high as $15,000.

a nice funeral is quite expensive. cremation can cost as little as $500. in my opinion cremation is the only way to go. preplanned/prepaid plans make a lot of sense, takes the pressure, guesswork and expense off the relatives and the deceased’s wishes can be carried out. if the deceased has a life insurance policy that can pay for the funeral or most places will work out a payment plan.

The idea of pre planning is to make those needed decisions at a time when you aren’t under stress. If that appeals to you, it’s a smart idea.
If you can’t afford a funeral, it is the same as if someone had died with no family, the state would take over.

It’s definitely worth it to preplan. Everyone knows that how much you spend on a person’s funeral shows how much you loved them.

Funeral planning is a smart idea. It keeps families together after you’re dead. Often times one sibling inherits the funeral bill and that can cause resentment.
