I’m sure that the Phelpses are well aware of how universally despised they are, and how Fred Phelps would likely have his funeral picketed and his grave site vandalised.
Taking that into consideration, do you think that they might plan a private funeral for Fred, and have his body cremated or something, in order to prevent any grave disturbances?

Even if they have a private funeral, I’d like to see how private it becomes.
If he’s cremated, we might have to let the crematorium burn itself down – as a safety precaution.
I would like to think that the people his group have picked over the years are better than he is and wouldn’t stoop to desecrating a grave site just to get even.
I don’t know but I hope we find out very, very soon.
They’d probably look forward to something like that. It would make him enough of a martyr to stop their little personality cult from falling apart completely, which will be a very real risk when their patriarch snuffs it.
Besides, they’re twisted up enough that they would probably take grievous offense to people sending them genuine letters of condolence. I think it’d be a far better thing to get as many people as possible (particularly soldiers and members of the the LGBT communities) to send flowers and sympathy cards. That’s the kind of thing they’d probably get really worked up about, being shown kindness by the supposed “enemies” of their hateful god. By their logic it’d probably make them “fag enablers” somehow. Who knows? Maybe that would be enough to send them to hell in their own minds.
