I am an elementary school teacher but have been very interested in learning about funeral directing for awhile now. I think I will make a career change in the next few years. What is a typical day like? Is the college course work extremely difficult to get through? Do you have to have a really strong stomach? I just want an idea from anyone willing to share. I plan to go talk to a funeral director in person sometime soon.
Also, I realize this isn’t a “typical” career choice to most people but I love the compassion element involved with it. I had a very nice experience with a funeral director who was very helpful and caring after the death of a close family member of mine.
