Can I Leave My Dog Outside?

I have a pit mix that I adopted 4 days ago. I’ve been staying home with her for the majority of the day; she has been inside. I have a funeral to attend at 1pm today and I decided to leave her outside.. as she can be a bit reckless inside. I should be home by 9pm, since I was very close to the deceased family. The problem is, its raining outside. I have a huge patio that is completely shielded from rain though (2x my room size). There’s a sofa on the patio and I plan to leave 3 big blankets out. The backyard is completely fenced in with brick walls and 6 feet wood fences. I’m worried because she tends to be an escape artist (broke out my boyfriends screen window that had metal bars on the outside and ran off.. thankfuly we found her). Should this be okay? Do I have to stay home from the funeral? ..

Im not a dog person but if D dog is small then I suggest inside cuz at night its gonna get cold. If I were u than place the dog like a little room and place like a fence so he wont come out. When I had a little dog My parents placed the dog at the laundry and setting up a fence so it wont come out. Oh and make sure were ever u place it make sure theres nothing for the dog to easily eat and choke. Well I hope it helped laterz.

6 foot brick fence covered patio. She would 99% percent of the time be perfectly fine the reason she wouldnt is if she dug.

you should go to the funeral and leave her outside. if your really worried you can get a long rope/leash and tie it to something so she cant reach the brick wall. leave her some toys and food to keep her occupied. hope this helps.

If she’s an escape artist, I probably wouldn’t risk it. I assume you don’t have a kennel for her. I think I would risk the mess and close her into the bathroom with water. Take her out to potty just before you leave and put her in the bathroom with blankets, a toy and a chew treat if you have it. I’m sorry for your loss. Good luck to you.

No. Have someone come over and dog sit for you.
